When I was a teenager my late father used to wear Hawaiian Surf which I used to buy for him on Father’s Day or his birthday. I was hesitant to spend the money on this — something I had never smelled, but I miss the very nice fragrance of Hawaiian Surf so much, I HAD to see if it smelled like the real deal with only a name change. HUGE disappointment!! If you are looking for a fragrance that smells like Hawaiian Surf, KEEP LOOKING (although I have yet to find one)! This doesn’t even remotely smell like Hawaiian Surf. Beyond that, unlike the opinion of some of the other reviewers, I don’t even think it has a pleasant smell. I think it smells cheap and not very pleasant. I will not be using it.

Such a summery scent, I've just been delighting in this all August. I don't know how I'll feel about it as we move into Fall, but by then I'll probably have switched to another Demeter cologne. Many people have noted that the scent doesn't last long. This is an eau de cologne, not a concentrated perfume. It is light enough to reapply over the course of the day, or to spritz around the room to enhance your mood. Gotta remember though that if you can smell yourself, then the scent is probably too strong to other people. To me, this scent, as well as Suntan Lotion, remind me of all that's excellent about the season: beaches, saltwater, live music and dancing, laughing and playing in the sun with friends. Enjoy!

The product says "salt water" on it, and boy, it sure is!I am absolutely happy to have this, exactly what I wanted — makes me feel like I'm constantly spending my days on the beach, instead of being stuck in a stuffy classroom or running errands.I must say, the smell doesn't last very long, but I am now a lifelong fan of Demeter, just because of this spray. Highly recommended, if that is what you're in for.

I don't know how Demeter does it, but they capture the smell of things like no other fragrance company.

Hawaiian Surf is the old name (branding legalities) - Salt Air is the new name. Same great fragrance.

Very flowery, cheap smelling spray. Have never used it and probably never will.
